Default Hardtail Struts

Anyone have a set of the "Hardtail Struts" from Licks Cycles on their Sportster? They're steel bars that replace the rear shocks to turn the bike into a hartail. I was thinking about getting a set for a 1200L. Also, does anyone know if putting these on the bike would have any adverse effects on the frame or any other part of the bike? Thanks. Here's a link to the "Hardtail Struts". http://www.lickscycles.com/catalog/p...roducts_id=103

I expect it to be a pretty rough ride. That's why it'd only be a bar hopper. I'd probably put a spring seat on it too, just to give a little bit of cushion. Do you knowthey effect the integrity of the frame, fender struts, or swingarmat all? Thanks for posting the picture. That's a pretty sweet bike he has.

I've paid alot of attention to the strut issue, but never heard a peep about any of that.

nice to see you out of the PROD.

lol I get out a PROD a lot. That area just seems to get a lot of action. I post a lot in the Softail and Southeast sections as well. The Sportster area is going to be added to that list as well. I bought the 1200L for my wife a few months ago but she decided she doesn't want to ride it anymore. So I traded my Deuce in for a '08 Softail Custom and now I have a Sporster to customize as well. I figure I'll customize the Custom to my liking, but keep it comfortable for the Mrs as well for when she's on the back, and turn the 1200 into a solo/around town bike. The only part that sucks is the money that's going to have to go into both bikes to get them where I want. But that's also the fun about it. Now I just have to decide which bike I want to dump the money into first. I was thinkin' the 1200, but now I'm startin' to think I'll sink it into the Softail since it'll be my primary bike.

One more question, how long has he had those struts on his bike?

Live2Ride,

I'm down here is Columbia, we should get together for a ride. Last I heard, an exgirlfriend of mine is a cop in your town.

We should. Check out the Southeast forum from time to time. There's a group of us in this area as well as some folks from NC and TN that plan rides just about every weekend. Most of the rides are up through the mountains. I've never made it out your way before. Any good rides out that way?
