520 or 525 chain would be fine. Re: front sprocket, any engineering shop would be able to machine up a custom sprocket.

Curious why not just stay with a 530 chain? Seems like a lot of work to get a 520 chain on there. I am guessing you want the 520 for the weight savings (or is it a width issue?) on the longer chain but the downside is the sprockets and chain don't last as long. In the stunting world I hear of people breaking teeth on the 520 sprockets, but I guess you won't be doing many wheelies on that thing. I thought of going with a 520 when I did my conversion but I already had a new 530 rear sprocket on the wheel I bought and I thought the 530 looked better. I may go to a 520 yet when it comes time for a sprocket/chain change as the 530 rubs on certain brands of the 150 tire.

Width and weight, all of my bikes are 520 and all of my spare sprockets are 520. 530 is overkill and if 8 second outlaw Harleys run them then im sold. If guys are breaking teeth in the stunting scene it wouldn’t surprise me, they’ll do anything for a like and paycheck on the socials lmao 🤣

In my experiences the 520 lasts as long as 530

All we gotta do is shave the front sprocket, not that much extra work imho

With your shop setup I'm sure shaving off a little on the sprocket is no big deal. I think the reason all the conversion kits seem to use 530 chains is looks over function. The 520 chains/sprockets on my supermoto never lasted as long as the 530 on my Sporty but I don't ride the Sporty like I rode the DRZ either, so its probably not a fair comparison.

In it to win it now! Haha! It’s shortened, but needed to be moved over a 1/2”. Hopefully tomorrow we get it welded, mounted and wheel in place.

We are not proclaimed fabrication guys at all! Pretty crude! I think we are gonna clamp it up on the table and square it to the world as best as possible. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Tack it then see if it’s gtg. Any pointers?

Looks pretty clean. I agree with Paintslinger, some small corner gussets would make me feel better

Nice work!

welded, moved entire arm over 7/16” to the right. Now the wheel is running dead center. Gonna need a 1” offset sprocket now, not 3/4 . Will add gussets later and will tidy up the looks of the offset steel by the pivot
