Joe, thanks for the backup, If I'm right, you're the one into the 20s machines. I think I will fab up a screen like that, will probably use a mesh with the density of the automotive ones I've seen. If it works I'll let you know, might be real trick on the retro you want to build. Even if a little juice gets through it's better than one of our 1/2 lbTexas grasshoppers whacking you in the chest, it'll sure stop a bird(been hit more than once).

Hey now.........who said anything about being cool? I don't like the way the windshields look on Sportsters, but I can appreciate people who put them on for the functionality they provide. Soooo...if there is a nice compromise between what I think looks good and what works reasonably well, why not look for that?

I personally don't like the looks, but I love the effect... Less bugs in the mug, much quieter, and it I can actually hear the pipes!!! When I bought my shield I decided on the compact, full height shield with the quick release. As was pointed out by the salesman, if you're gonna use a shield, you may as well use something that'll make a difference. If I don'twant the shield for the day, I simply take it off. On cooler mornings or for a longer ride, I slap it back on. Much better riding the slab with a shield vs without.

I got the flyscreen on my Sporster and itdoes makes a difference (specially arround the chest area). It maybe a little pricey, but definitley worth the money, plus it looks great!
