The only issue is that the left side control switches don't work and I'm not sure how to go about "testing" the system. I've already pulled the tank and checked the plugs. There's no issues there. I think the problem is from the connectors to the actual switches. I'm not sure how to test the circuit board in the switches but I do seem to have continuity between the wires.
Seems likely the switches are bad, but I don't see any obvious signs of wear and tear on the circuit board. Anyone have any suggestions before I shovel out $120+ for a new set of switches?
Follow the wiring from one end to the other - make sure all connections are tight. Also take off the control cover and spray everything down with contact cleaner.
The 2016 bike has CAN bus so the switches "tell" the electronic module to send a command on the bus to the BCM to decode and do whatever; sound the horn, flash the high beam, turn on high beam, turn on the left indicators, clutch pulled in or perform some function on the speedo small lcd display.
On a pre 2014 bike for example when you pressed the horn button the switch completed the circuit. That doesn't exist on the 2016 bike. What you now have is 6 switches but only 4 wires.
Without a device that can read the CAN bus I have no idea how you test the module short of just changing it to see if the fault is cleared.
