Hello there,
I am new to this forum. Im coming here because I cant seem to find any part number or information on my rear axle adjuster. It snapped off due to a poor mom and pop shop probably over Torqueing the rear end. Also, can I ride it to a shop to get it fixes? Any information will help.
cheers.
i believe he torqued it to 120 pounds since the adjuster broke once already. Im no mechanic hence why Im here but I dont think he was much of one either
cheers.
These have a 5/16-18 thread, there is no way that they should be torqued to 120 foot pounds, it should only be 120 to 180 inch pounds (10 to 15 foot pounds).
The axle nut torque value is 95 to 105 foot pounds and it is 5/8-14 thread.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it. Do the rear axle was torqued to 110-120 ft/lbs I believe not the adjuster. But one had broken after taking it to them and now Im dealing with the same problem. Wondering if I cant just grab a 5/16 18 bolt from a parts store.
cheers.
