Default Battery Problems
I have a 2020 forty eight xl1200x and the battery keeps dying. I replaced it a couple months back and was fine for a bit but I let it sit for about a week and now the new battery is dead. Any ideas with what’s going on?

Sounds like there is some voltage draw going on.

Any aftermarket accessories wired to the bike/ battery?

That sounds logical.
There could also be a short somewhere on the scooter.

Either way it would help to use a battery tender.

@Kb92 How did you determine that the battery was dead?

A battery tester is a great tool to have in the toolbox, especially if you own vehicles you don't drive on the daily. Also, some smart charges can bring a battery back from the "dead". Mine saved me a bunch on a battery I couldn't get a standard charger to charge. Battery is still going strong years after told it was a lost cause.

Your 2020 will draw approximately 7 to 8 mA when switched off. The battery ought to stay above 80% for 14 to 15 days.

Once you've figured the battery out you will need an ammeter to check the draw on the battery.

No after market accessories.

I'm a big fan of battery tenders. Harley batteries aren't the most powerful and they can drain with time and or temperature. Here in Florida, I have all my bike's batteries on tenders.

Recommend Deltran, CTEK, or NOCO.

AntiGravity lithium battery best mod I've made on my Sportster. Twice the cranking amps of the weak-tit OEM.

Expensive but worth it.

On a 2014 and up Sportster that isn't ridden regularly even a lithium battery will still go flat.
