Default Intake manifold gaskets

I am going to have my intake manifold gaskets replaced this Spring, on my '05 Sportster, and I am wondering what is a good brand? Thank you!

Cometic is the way to go on almost all the gaskets. James' push rod tube base gaskets are the one exception. I suspect a leak at the heads is more common than the carb side. I just pulled my manifold and where the bolt goes through the bracket I could see getting a leak if you're not careful as the bolt eats into the rubber right there.

Your bike is new enough I would start with HD, your local dealership might have them. They lasted 20 years the first time..........

I went with the HD seals just to be safe. There's a dealer about half hour away, so it wasn't a big deal to get them.

I'm sure the Cometic seals would be fine, too. I think the FSM says to use dish soap, but I used red grease without issue.

I had the bike worked on awhile back, and after ~6 mos. the problem reared its ugly head again. Happens after the engine is fully warmed up; when I crack the throttle, it falls on its face and pops back through the carb. After viewing some instructions online, I realize proper installation/assembly technique is important Thanks for the info.

I was finally able to get this out!! Whew.

NOW TO BUSINESS: should I be concerned that the rear fuel injection line is rusty? I cleaned up the parts a little bit already.
