It worked really well but my legs are just a little too short to use forward controls with the mustang seat without a windshield. With my legs out, the wind pushes me too far back in the seat and it is a major workout keeping my feet on the pegs. With my lower profile seat it was no problem. But then my ars hurt.
You could do the opposite of what I did and run forward controls with mids (pegs only). The brake rod to the front controls clears the pegs I think (depending on the mids your running).

When I was looking a few years back I don't recall any good options for highway pegs for the rigid mount sportsters. I used forward controls without the controls.
Holy smokin' Texas, that is a great looking bike!
Also, I do like the "forward controls without the controls" idea. I have a crash bar / highway bar type thing, but my legs are a tad too short...
Bubba, do the Harley 360 pegs mount to the frame or an engine guard? You do have them on your Sportster, right?
Currently have them on my Dyna but I had a set on a Sportster too.
Theyll mount to an engine guard or to the forward control bracket on the frame.
Mine are mounted to the forward control bracket.
