its the front brake master cylinder not relieving pressureafter the brake lever is released.

ORIGINAL: TestFlyer

With the engine off, mine won't move with the clutch in when it's in gear. In fact, it's tough to find neutral unless I rock it forward and back a few times with the clutch in. Been that way as long as I can remember.

Ditto.....

Ok, here's the word from the shop...

Apparently they say that there is debris build up in the brake pins? Does that sound right????

Sounds feasible. If the pins get very mucky or corroded it canstop the pads from sliding back away from the disc when you release the pressure on the lever. If any small pieces of debris, such as fine gravel or grit, get caught behind the pad that'll stop it sliding back too.

Even if it does end up costing a few $ and does take a couple of weeks (I doubt it will take long), look on the bright side. At least the problem was diagnosed and is being put right. Thats a considerably better outcome than the front breaks suddenly jamming onwhile you wereriding.

I once had a front tire blow out on me at about 40mph just as I went into a bend late at night (turned out some kind soul had slashed the tyre but hadnt gone right the way through). It was not a fun experience at all and I was under no illusions whatsoever that lady luck was looking down on me that night. I certainly cant put it down to skill on my part that I came out the bend still on the bike and more or less upright. (it was a small Honda and pretty light and many years ago.

Good on you for doing the sensible thing and glad to hear you're safe.

Update to the Update. NOW they feel a "wobble" in the front end, the rotor is bent, possibly the forks... Bearing in mind that less than a month ago 2 different techs, one from Tacoma, one from the shop AND within the last 2 weeks my outside mechanic rode the bike and no mention of a wobble or anything else.

What do you guys think??????

From the information you've posted here it sounds a bit suspect to me. It's a new problem that you, nor anyone else for that matter, had noticed before. Did you omit to mention above that you crashed it getting it out of the garage? ... or bashed the front end with something heavy? ... No, didn't think so.

I guess there is an outside chance it is a recent manifestation of a long-standing problem, but I would think the amount of miles you've been putting in would have made it show up before now. I know it would be torture for you to be without your bike until October, but maybe you should try to get it back from the dealer and wait for your friendly mechanic to get back in town. Has the mechanic got a cell phone you could use to discuss it with him/her?
