Hello!
Just picked up this 2020 883 last weekend. It has had minimal use.. with only 1700mi. on it. Seller purchased it "used" in '21 from a HD dealer with 600 miles. From what I understand that was the only time it had the oil changed. Can't confirm any other service to the bike.
Going to change the oil myself. Thinking KN170 and the Mobil one 20W50 synthetic is good? Any other recommendations or suggestions greatly appreciated.
The pipes (slip-ons?) dont seem stock and haven't confirmed if there is a tuner or not. Do I just scan bt devices upon startup to see if im picking anything up or look for one manually?
I would bleed the brakes, change primary, transmission, and motor oil. Lots of choices for fluids but I like Amsoil motor oil and Red Line trans and primary fluids.
You would have to check the ECM to see if there is any tune. Probably need a dealer or Indy to do this.
If you want the full Monty, grab a jug of Formula + and adjust the clutch while you’re in there. A cheap test strip will tell you about your brake fluid.
Later model might have ABS and that gets a bit salty - Twin tec
Id give the tires a good look over. Yes theyre low miles but theyre 5-6 years old.
Tires will dry out, harden, and crack over time. Especially if theyre not used often.
Some make a big deal out of changing the oil way before it's due. That is just one of a list of 36 items HD list in the maintenance schedule that needs to be considered during a service.

Yep. 36 items to charge you for. I always love the multi-point inspection scam. Every time I used to take my Toyota in for service they'd tell me I needed new tires. I had literally just bought tires and they told me I needed new ones.
Change oil I do like moble1 Don't know what's in the sportster but If it is dot4 in the master cylinder bleed and change, look at the tires for dry rotting if not run the **** out of them before they do.
