Forget the Screamin Eagles and buy a set of Cycle Shack slipons. Cycle Shack makes the Screamin Eagles and Harley marks them up an extra 100 dollars. The new Screamin Eagles are also very quiet compared to the Cycle Shacks.
Unless I have just purchased an old set of SE's for my 2007 Sportster 1200L, I would debate the whole 'improvement' argument (which I am assuming is aimed at the sound). I think that it increases the volume of the stock pipes by about 300%. There is no comparison. My bike is now loud enough to give me a headache on longer journeys and make small children cry.
I have a 2008 XL1200C. It's only three weeks old. I have already ordered SE slip-ons. They will be in on Monday. I just found this forum tonight. After reading what some people wrote....I don't know if I should be excited or depressed. They're already paid for so, I guess I should just grin and bear it.....
Take a look at the Harley catalog: the new SE pipes \\;give you a very nice 20% boost in power. My dealer also verified this on their dyno. They have a good sound, although not overly loud.  \\;

This is the dyno on SE i found on the HD website. \\; Are there any other stores/websites that \\;I can buy SE for a better price then the dealer?

I have a 08 sportster and installed the S/E slip onns. Also I went with a stage 1 air intake and a Re-map download from my local dealer . I will say there is a very noticeable increase in power and makes the bike alot more enjoyable to ride.
