Default Trans oil problem, need solution.......

So here's the story. I took a few parts off to have powder coated. One of them was the derby cover. I had my bike on a bike lift in the garage with the kickstand in the down position (good thing!). Well my 4 year decides to lean against the right side of the bike and knocks ot over onto the kickstand. It managed to stay on the lift but was leaning all the way to the left. So about half a quart of tranny oil dumps out onto the floor via the clutch inspection hole. So I first yell at my kid, then pick the bike up, and clean up the mess. So I got a fresh quart of Syn3 ready to go. Should I drain out all of the rest of the fluid and fill it up with a new quart or is there another way to determine the proper level visually and just add what drained out? What do you think? Thanks.

You can just refill it, the level is specified in the service manual, but I would just dump the existing fluid and replace with the 1 quart of fresh fluid since you have it. It's quick & easy and then you know you have the quantity right.

Yeah, thanks, that was what I was going to do. I just changed the fluid about 100 miles ago so it just kills me that I have to do it again so soon. Oh well, it's only $10 a quart. LOL

You can always take the $10 out of the 4 year olds allowance for the next few years.....

Change it again. You allready bought the quart and the derby is off. No sweat to remove the trans drain plug

Could be worse. My 17 year old daughter broke the rear brake connecting rod on my bike a couple of weeks ago.

I agree, just drain the remaining fluid, and add a fresh quart. I GOTTA do that before the night is over!
