Steering Raisers

use a pull back riser from Drag Specialties that is very similar to
the one shown. What you will find is that if you are using the
stock 3.3gal Iron tank, that a 3.5" pullback riser will hit the tank.
You will need a 4.5" pullback riser to clear the tank. I suspect that
the amount of rise needed would be even greater if you have
installed a "tank lift" kit...
Here is a few picture of mine, no tank lift, 4.5" pullback riser.
The pics do not show how close the tank is to the clamp, but
at least will give you an idea of the pullback...

I am running stock tank with no lift.
Did you keep same cables?
Also would be easier to just get risers or just replace the handlebar as it costs roughly the same. And lookwise what would look better on a sportster ?

the stock hardline some. If I remember correctly, I might have had
to reroute the control wires, but since this was done over ten years ago, I
do not remember exactly. I just found another picture that somewhat
shows the tight clearance with the 4.5" pull back riser.
On the brake line, at the time I was also converting to twin discs,
so I replaced all of the brake lines with black stainless lines.
I was also planning a longer damper tube swap, so I installed
longer lines. Here is an older picture.
Good luck & hth,

Try to find pictures of the handlebars you are considering so you can get an
idea of what to expect.
good luck,

Will give it a shot for the 4.5" setback.

the stock clamp/speedo combination with a pullback riser,
it may (IMHO) look a bit odd/funny/funky/wacky/etc. because
the speedo guage face will be sitting vertical...
