On my 1200-C it has a grease zerk in the neck. Over the summer, I must have gave it 30 pumps of grease all together, and I still see no grease coming out any place. Should I pump in grease untill I see some come out at the top or bottom ?
Thanks...
It should ooze out grease at top and bottom after just a few pumps.............My guess is your grease gun isn't pumping right, or the gun has a very short pump travel.
Okay I looked my bike over and cannot find any grease fittings (zerk or alemite) on the neck or anywhere near the head bearings. In the manual it says dissasemble the entire head and pack them in wheel bearing grease.
Am I missing something, or is this only on older models?
My bike is a 2000, and the zerk is on the left side. I assumed all of them had one.
2 of my friends with a 85 Sportster and a 04 Dyna dont have a zerk.
Im lost on this one. I cant be the only guy with a grease zerk can I ?...
If you bought it used, the previous owner might have installed them. I've heard of this, but I've also heard that when that's done, grease will simply start to go into the frame.
Or, maybe I don't know what the he!! I'm talking about. Let us know how it turns out.
Maybe some one did put it in, I dont know. But I do know it holds a lot of grease. Should I just keep pumping it in, untill it comes out some place.?
Any one out there have a zerk in the neck of there bike?...
'anubisss'...Thanks...
That must be what some one did to my bike. Looks cool.
So must be Im suppose to just keep filling it, untill it comes out the bottom.
My gun works good and I will let all of you know how much it takes to fill it up...
I may need to buy more grease...
