Getting my sporty dyno'd on wed hp/tq only, 5 runs, 48.00+ 15% off , they said little more for a O2 reading, fuel/air mix ratio. they get 200.00 for a dyno tune. bike runs geat so i'll see what they say. hows this compare with cost out there? dealer is Stan's HD in Batavia NY.
Just knowing the HP & TQ numbers aren't worth much in my opinion, other than maybe bragging rights. The air/fuel numbers are what tell you if the motor'sbeing fed correctly through the RPM range. I paid $65 for all the info., then made the necessary tuning changes myself. Just my .02
Like posted above , your number's dont have crap if your afr is crap like mine. The last dyno op set mine up to run at 12.8-13.0 for afr instead of 13.5 afr from dan at nrhs. I paid for 5 hours worth and it's still not right we will see next week.
Close to 13.0 is what to shoot for but it will usually vary slightly through the RPM range. It's better for the motor to be a tad to rich than to lean.
^ I believe the carb bikes like alittle richer then efi, dan at nrhs told me to shoot for 13.5to get get the best performance andlong life for my set up. Efi is a bit more precise at fuel delivery so it can live with a bit more air. Im shooting for80hp and 85 ftlbs at the tire this time around.
Yes, i've been reading up on it today(google)'Air/Fuel Ratio'is the the most important element to max hp., gas mileage ,engine cond. etc. just wondering why there aren't more threads on the topic, don't remember seeing any, is it because the e.f.i. bikes don't have to be so concerned about it , isn't that what re-mapping is. The perfect # is 14.7 lower is richer, better hp., less mpg, cooler temp, higher is more mpg, less hp, runs hotter, have found ideal is 12.9-13.8.Am i in the ball park here. thanks for the imput. (well i lernded somthing new today)
Yeah your in the ball park, Dan at nrhs said 13.5 is a good number to shoot for when tuning since lean will make it run hotter and richer causes bad fuel range, power delivery issues.
