the bike can handle 250lb guys. don't ya think that that's more extra drag than the little more a windshield creates? There are cars out there with engines just barely more powerful than the 883 and they push around a windshield AND the car it's attached to...
I love how a 883cc bike gets talked about like it's a ten-speed. In the Harley world, it may be small, displacement wise, but by any other standard, it is a big bike. Remember, it is still a heavyweight cruiser, not a 250 Honda rebel.
An XL883C is one of the most fun all around bikes I have everrode, but cruise at 75MPH ??? Excuse me for saying so, but with only five gears you will be a milk shake in no time.

Absolutely, why_me. Amazes me... the "big" Harley was 54cu, then 74, then 88, now 96 (optional 103). And now I see often enough, Boss Hogs with 350cu Chevys. I guess to have the biggest Harley on the block, you have to wrap it around a Cummins 610 Turbo diesel. And to think the mid-size Harley used to be a 350cc.
PS: If she really wants to "cruise" at 75, dynamolowrider, rather than twisting the heck out of the engine, drop in for her 883 a set of 1200 sprockets.
