An XL883C is one of the most fun all around bikes I have everrode, but cruise at 75MPH ??? Excuse me for saying so, but with only five gears you will be a milk shake in no time.
What's wrong with cruising at 75mph on an 883??!!! I do it all the time. Well, kinda. When on the interstate I usually cruise between 75mph and 85mph. I don't think anything at all about jumping on the bike for a short little 200 mile interstate trip. It's not as much fun as riding on the twisties. But sometimes ya just need to get somewhere.

Oh, the original question. I have a quick detach weenie shield for those interstate trips. The best thing about it is, the "QUICK" detach part. That way you can get that stupid thing off once you arrive at your destination before TOO many people see it on the bike.

i just dont get the defernce in sportsters and other bikes? my last bike was a softtail 07 before that a 01 springer they are all harleys all about the same.i have had rice bikes also. i liked all of the bikes i have had,at my age i like the sportey i am 67 going on 17. the softtail was a nice bike on the long rides but i still enjoy my sporty at 65, 75, even 105,mph the sporty is just 1 hell of a bike more all around. the weight def is not that much. i have a 07 low about same height as softtail. now the springer is a def thing nice looking but hard to get off stand, frount end a little def but once you get going down the road preaty much the same. the sporty is a big bike is a big bike. just easyer to ride. back to the windsheild quistion. the sporty will push any thing that youwant to. Yep got a QD wind shield use it on the interstate, you get less tired from the wind hitting you meaning longer rides and it also helps with those rocks thrown at 85 mph. On local trips on the twistys I just leave it off but have never noyiced an acceration or top speed difference with it off or on...oh and crusing at 80 on the 883 no problem and no milk shake but mine is an 05 and rubber mounted I cannot speak for the older versions

883cc is more than enough to "push" a windshield at 75mph.

My 883 with windshield does fine. Milk shake? I don't feel any more vibe at 85 then I do at 60 really. Unless there is a good head wind. It'll still go 85 no questions asked though.
