I am painting my sportster this week I am thinking of doing the all black nightster tank with the silver strip through the middle. The color is pewter pearl now as bad as the color sounds it kind of goes with the grey engine. My question is if I paint everything black is the color of the engine going to stick out like a sore thumb? If yous have pictures please share.
I plan on painting mine black as well. I think the engine would look fine if you leave it the color it is but I do plan on painting my engine black and the sanding the edges of the fins to expose just the edges. The only problem with this is you may have to repaint the engine every year or two depending on how often you ride it. I plan on using stove black or an automotive high temp paint. You'll find as many opinions on this as there are colors, this is just my opinion but I think it's a good one
