I would recommend Avon Venoms. Those tires are fantastic! Grip the road and ride smooth as glass. Can't comment on wear, because I have only had them for 1000 miles. They are better than the "dun-slops" and the Metzlers that I have had.

I put 11,000 on my Dunlop harley branded back tire that came on it new. I replace it with another Dunlop...the 404 I think (I think the 407 is the one that says Harley on it, someone correct me if I'm wrong). I've got 9,000 miles on it now and it's still holding up pretty well......the front is still my original and it doesn't look like it needs replacement any time soon, actually.

I am not very easy on the throttle and with 113 hp at the rear wheel, it will not last long. Remmber, It still looks like I have about 2,000 mile left on it - my guess anyway. But the problem is I am going on a 2,000 mile trip - I do not want any problems that are related to a dumb decision. I make enough on them with out doing it intentionally, if you know what I mean.

The 2007 Sporty with 113 hp and over 100 ft #'s torque is stock. I had Nick from Custom Performance ad a Turbo Charger. WOW, what a difference that made.

You can read about the converstion and the performance and see the Dyno chart here at

V-rods don't have a chance anymore.

I will replace with Avon, I've sworn by those tyres for years.

I like my metzlers. Nice grip and reasonable wear. I am not easy on the throttle either (although mine isn't turbocharged) and I have about 6000 miles with little visable wear.

7400 miles on my factory set. One new inner tube in rear tire at 450 miles after I bought it due to nail. I don't see any reason to change the tires yet.

But the question is..............which brand to replace with?
