All the gas has ethanol in it in my area of Virginia so there is no choice. I would like to get a tank full of regular non ethanol gas to compare it though.
Yeah in southeast Wi we have to go out to more rural areas to get "the good gas". Otherwise 10% ethanol is all we got in the city. My owners manual stated that this can be used without any serious issues. The biggest downfall is a small percentage of fuel economy loss.
i have never been afraid of using it. if I can get it with enough octane to keep the bike happy, I'll put it in. have had no problems with anything i have ever owned (newer than about 1975 or so anyway...)
Our all-wise legislature in NJ replaced their mandated known cancer-causing MTBE additive with ethanol 2 years ago. If you want to ride after October in this state you either have to get your own gas storage facility and fill it in the summer, or burn the ethanol mix until May. Those are our two choices...
So let me get this straight, they banned it cause it causes cancer but they only care if you get cancer in the winter? So I guess they could care less if you get cancer in the summer. W T F!
