On November 23 2007 I became the proud owner of a 2003 XL 1200 custom anniversary edition. I'm ecstatic, it's my second bike and I couldn't be happier with it. I previously owned a Buell Blast which was what I chose to learn on because of its light weight and manueverability but within months found myself scrutinizing the HD website daily. I checked out some the bigger relatives of the sportster but felt like they were a little too big for me, so I started checking out used sportsters on craigslist and came across a sweet deal on this sportster; less than 1200 miles on her when i made the purchase! If I weren't so computer illiterate i'd post a pic but I'm still getting used to these forums and such. I think this website is pretty cool so i figured i'd do my best and make a post. Anyway I'll be looking into getting a Stage 1 upgrade when my funding recovers, I'm planning on thunderheader exhaust but i'm not sure about an air cleaner any advice or feedback will be appreciated, thanks for reading and

Welcome to the family! Beware! This **** is adicting! I just bought my first Harley (2006 XL1200C) a year and a half ago and my second Harley (2008 Road King) last week. You can never have enough Harleys! LOL!
I changed myexhaust (Vance & Hindes short shots) on the Sportster but not the air cleaner, so I didn’t have to rejet. Just changing the pipes took my gas milage from 40 mpg to 50 mpg.
