Got your post this morning. Thank you, I really appreciate it!!! Hey I got you beat, I'm 6'6 and I love this bike. The mini-apes will make it that much better!!!
Gotta a stupid question for you. The ends of each of the cables you recommended fit without modifying them, right? They just snapped right in? What kind of tweaking were you referring to? I'm not mechanically inclined as you probably noticed. You're right about the price, the cables you listed are less than 1/2 the cost of the DiamondBack braided cables and will look a lot better on this style of bike.
If you tell me that these cables will snap right in with no modifications to the ends of the cables, I'll order them today!!!Thanks again for all your help.
P.S. Your bike looks tough!!! Love those pipes and the apes make it look even more old school!!!
Doing some searching, and well, thats a bad lookin bike i realy like the look of the mirrors on the bottom!!!
Im looking into mini-apes for my 04 C right now
Love the looks. If the stems were shorter, moving the mirror closer to the bars, would you still be able to use them without your arms being in the way?
Back in the 70's, I used to run my mirrors underneath on my dual purpose bikes. I made them shorter though where they hugged the bars on those motocross style handlebars. They worked really well, and the big plus was, they didn't get knocked off when off-road.
Looks sweet man. I love the black short shots. Hoping I can get my wife talked into letting me get a set. Seems that in her opinion, that I may have gone overboard on buying stuff last year when I got my bike.

I think, from what I remember, the cables snapped in pretty easily, but like i said above. My buddy does all that stuff, I just did brakes and the major bolting. Not to mention, did the pipes while he was working on the other stuff. Either way, if you have worked on bikes before, it shouldn't be very difficult. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the compliments. As far as the mirrors go. I have the stock nightster ones and they are just long enough to clear the turn signals when you turn them upside down. If you relocate the turn signals, you could definitely use shorter stems. I like them down low, gets more of the bobber style feel while still having mirrors.
