I grew up watching this man too. I always thought he was about half nuts. But you know he made a career of ripping around on motorcycles and I don't. Guess that will teach me.

I remember watching Evel back in the 70's jumping one thing or another on TV with my brother Bill, then we went outside, set up a backyard slide as a jump and Bill took it full blast on his Stingray (banana seat, ape hangers, long sissy bar). Totally smeared him when he crashed, I decided that I wasn't gonna kill myself like that. Older brothers are great for showing you how not to do things, yeah?
He doesn't remember it, though. Probably blocked it out.

I remember when I was 10 jumping the ditch on a homemade plywood ramp with my stingray with apes. I missed the jump and the handlebar with no grips went into my mouth and tore my bottom inside lip away from my gums, 9 stitches and 5 gallons of icecream later I was Evel again!!
