Have to agree with all the post above.. I've owned the 100th anniversary Roadking and a Sportster...
After awhile of ownership.. they both became what I call "date stamped"... Everyone know what year bikes they were and they no longer drew andy special attention as being "special" When trying to sell them... well only a few lookers were actually simi-interested. In fact they were hard sells.
Only a collector wants a collectors item and then it must be mint condition like NIB.. otherwise like I said... they are "date stamped"
Mod the bike the way you want it. Ask yourself , Did you buy the bike because of the Anniversay hoop-la and pay more for it... or did you buy it cause it was a good by no matter what year... If your answer is Anniversay hoop-la, then preserve it as it is...

Thanks for all the opinions, my first inclination is to customize, and that is what I will do. Time for a wide glide for the front, and a 200 kit for the back. Yeah baby!!
I also agree, do what you want. I have a buddy that has a 100 anniversary Heritage Softail. For years he wanted to do some mods to the bike, but didn't because of the same thinking about it being a collectors addition. Recently he was thinking about trading that bike, and was pissed off to find out it wasn't worth anymore than any other 03 Heritage Softail. So, now he's doing some mods.
Mod It!!!! I find the the paint scheme ugly on those bikes anyway.....But it's your bike! Do whatever you want, cause it isn't worth anymore than a regular sportster! I still plan on changing my paint!
Personally I like the 100th paint scheme better than the 105th baby **** and black paint scheme. That being said... the anniversary models are way overproduced to be worth anything more than any other sportster.
