Anyone else have this problem? I went out this morning to get ready for the local toyrun and parade and my rear tire was flat (wasn't yesterday). I usually check my tire pressure every couple of days, sometimes it's way low and sometimes it's not. Well needless to say, I went to shoot some air in it and you could hear and feel the air coming out through a couple of the spokes in the wheel. Can this just happen? Will it be covered under warranty? Also as I was checking this the wife noticed a small nail in my rear tire. Can that be patched or will it need to be replaced? I appreciate any info I can get......THANKS

I don't think tires and tubes are covered under warranty. Since the Nightsters have spoked wheels front and back?, All you need is a new tube. The air is coming from the tube and leaving the wheel via the spokes. Of course the rear wheel has to come off...I personally do not have the patience or equipment to do something like that myself, nor am I inclined to...so I would take it to the dealer to do it. Others on this forum are DIY types, so with a bike jack, proper tools, and a good service manual,it can be done yourself.
On the other hand, if it was a standard tubeless tire on the back (cast wheel), then the answer to your question would be....yes, it can be patched (YAAYYY!)....but ONLY until it can be replaced ASAP(BUMMER)! But in your case you just need a new tube, which is cheaper than a new tire.
By the way, when you replace the tube, be sure to patch the tire as well; if you don't, the new tube will get pinched in the hole left by the nail and blow out.
Thanks for the help people. I wasn't sure if it had a tube in it or not, that's why i was asking. I'm gonna call the dealer this morning and see what they will hit me up for on the labor of putting a new tube in. Thanks again.......I love this forum[sm=icon_cheers.gif]
