Default Problem solved....so far..

Heatwave here in NY (And elsewhere as I see) so I got the sled out and did some diagnostic work. Most of you know from another thread, myself and a couple others are chasin some damn gremlin that causes the bike to act (or actually) like its running on one cylinder..

I have done everything... except... I re-reouted the rear spark plug cable to the right side of the bike and re-seated my plug wires..and shot them with a little dielectric grease.

Key on re-installing the cable... pull the rubber boot back and push the connect out so it is exposed. Connect to the coil then push the boot back. Dont just assume that it is making contact.. Do the same for the plug end. For me, it seemed to do the trick.. So far so good. She is going to work with me tomorrow so we shall see. I will let you all know if this did the trick.

Thanks guys. Hada great ride today (65F here in NY). The problem is fixed. Boy that was a long expensive lesson but I learn a lot and know better what to look for or at least closer at.

A hot, clean spark to an engine will do wonders for it. Glad to see that you solved your problem.

Yup, had that problem with the back wire.

Took the dealer 4 attempts to find it (No charge to me). There was no rhyme or reason to it cutting out other than it was after 20 minutes or so.
