I would highly recommend the Sundowner. I waited untill the local dealer had a big sale and was able to pick one up for $200 + sales tax. The Mustang seats are great as well but here in Atlanta about the only way to get a deal on one is at a one of the swap meets.

I sat on the stock seat before I bought the bike and at the time I suggested to the dealer that it was like sitting on a two-by-four. It was proposed that it would eventually break in, but I was afraid my butt would break first. Comparing the Sundowner to the stock seat would be like comparing ...... well, there is no comparison. I'm sure the Mustangs and Corbins are very good, in fact a lot of after-market seats out there are better than stock, so I guess you'll have to shop around and find what you like best. I'm very happy with the Sundowner (It couldn't have cost HD that much more to equip the bike with it in the first place). Anybody need a like-new stock seat?

Andy,
I went with the HD sundowner seat on my O4 1200C. I love the way the mustang seats look but could'nt justify the almost doubled price Of the mustang. I have made several long trips since getting the sundowner and must say it seams to be the way to go.

I have a 2006 xl1200c sportster. I want to change the stock seat to something more comfortable.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of seats or makes?
Thanks,

Andy from So. Cal.
For One-Up riding I recommend the Daytona Sport LT Series seat by Le Pera. I have one on my bike (2006 XL 1200C) most of the time and love it. For Two-Up riding I use the "Leather Badlander" seat by Harley-Davidson along with a detachable sissy bar.

I bought the Sundowner off of ebay, and I can't say enough good about it. I don't care for the looks of it but gladly sacrificed the looks of the stock one for the comfort of the Sundowner. My girlfriend would shoot me if I got rid of the sundowner now!
