I have a 2006 xl1200c sportster. I want to change the stock seat to something more comfortable.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of seats or makes?
Thanks,
Solo, or 2-up?
Mustang, Corbin, LePera all make great seats.
Personally I love the H-D Sundowner (I go 2-up a lot).
You'll get a lot of opinions, I'm sure - ask other riders you see as well.
Good luck!
My "research" indicates that the HD Sundowner is a tough seat to beat for a two-up upgrade to the Harley stocker. Do a search on 'seats' on this forum and at http://www.xlforum.com There are a lot of posts on this subject in both forums to help you out.
Ive always gone with mustangs and liked them. I have a Mustang vintage solo on my 05 1200c and like it. I have never had one, but the H.D. sundowner appears to be the new thing.
Andy-I replaced the stock "butt buster" seat with a Mustang solo seat last summer. The Mustang seat is great! The quality is good, delivered when promised, reasonably priced, but the best part is, a much more enjoyable ride.
I put a Sundowner on mine before leaving the dealer. I planned on doing a lot of 2-up riding with the Mrs. Both of us really like it. I did try out the stock seat riding around the block to make sure I was't wasting money on the sundowner. Nope, I wasn't. Money well spent.
However...............Now wife wants her own scoot so I'm transitioning to a Mustang solo with backrest. I'll get the matching pillion and sissybar pad later on so I'll still have the option of 2-up riding.
