Hi folks. New member here. I have a XL1200R and want to put on 16" apes. Has anyone done this? If so, what length cables and brake line did you use? What brand and where did you buy them?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

there are lots of threads about doing the same thing, lotsa of people have done it. may get more info faster then waiting for answers here

Go with short risers and you will be okay. I left my 6" stock riser on, and put 14" apes on, the cables I bought were the longest available and they just made it. If you go with shorter risers and 16" apes you should be able to get cables just fine. Hill Country Customs in TX are VERY knowlegable about goin ape. I believe my contact there is Robert. Great folks who know their stuff.
