Too bad we have to label people, I will ride with anyone and have met a lot of nice people along the way that have money and some that are dirt poor but they all enjoy the ride, and if any of them (rub) me the wrong way I ride off in a different direction and find ones that don't.
What income level is the point where your progress from a PUB to an RUB?
Tom
thats a tough question, because its all according to your location..my income is around $90,000 a year..thats me and the wife together..that may be alot to some people from different areas, but not here in new jersey, with that income im considered a peb(poor everyday biker) but in some other areas that income would definitely make you a rub..so you really need to think about it that way..
With an income down below $20,000. Living way out in the country. Living in a single wide pre-hud trailer. Owning 1 car that is worth less then $1,000. Owning two newer harleys. I am classified as a PCB, or Poor Country Boy or Poor Country Biker.
RUB = $60,000+ year professionals who have never had to stand in a food line, never had to avoid doctors becuase of a lack of medical insurance, make a choice between beer or food.

Really has more to do with 'net worth' than income....
Many people can appear to be very well off, especially when you consider their income and all the 'fancy stuff' they own, but if your current assets are less than your current debt obligationyou actually have a 'net worth' of less than $0.00.... [8D]
To me being what most consider "rich" is when you have no debt obligation, and have enough funds that you are not required to "work for the man" to maintain your current lifestyle for an extended period of time.

Rich is when you can walk into a dealer and get a bike with only a signature ...
AKA Perfect credit score ...

OK.... So define Rich!
Wow, I guess I must be rich. And here it was that I thought it was simply because I was shrewd with my investments and spending! LOL I guess I am a RUB! Even though where I live outside of DC has one of the highest cost of living in the country and my dollar does not go nearly as far as it would in other places.
Damn, if I am now a RUB I guess I better sell my cheap POS Sportster and get the shiniest, most expensive SE something on the showroom floor! Then I am going to ride it for 500 miles and trade it in on the next great model later this summer!
LOL, many names and explanations for RUB's or Posers.
But one thing good that comes from them is alot of used bikes with very few miles on them.
You might be a rub or poser if your the guy that has a 1 or 2 year old bike that only has 300miles on it. Hmmmmmmmmm ride it don't RUB the paint off of it......................
