I really don't think income has anything to do with the essence that is RUB. RUB doesn't ride his harley, his harley rides him, RUB doesn't ride for the fun of it, he rides to be seen, RUB looks at his reflection EVERYTIME he rides by glass, RUB looks over at me in my blue jeans, chuck t's and white t shirt on my sporty and looks away as if he's better than me cuz his bike has a lot of chrome and my bike has none, RUB has Harley brand everything, from the boots to the gloves to the shades to the vest to the t shirt.

RUB is what he is, a bit annoying, but when it's all said and done who gives a ****. Let the guy have fun and enjoy his life however he wants. He's not hurting anyone, so let him keep on RUBBIN.

A RUB is a motorcyclist you don't like who makes more money than you do.

Apologies to Dylan Thomas ("An alcoholic is someone you don't like, who drinks as much as you").

LOL! That's pretty good.

Everyone wants to be the "R" part - but when they get on the bike, they don't want anyone to know about it. heh heh heh.

It's all pretty silly.

I guess I'm a DOKBNRRAHAIBBJGWNTOFT.

(Doin' OK but not Rich, rural and happy about it, 'Biker/Boater/Jeeper' guy who'snot too old fortoys)
I'm probably not the 'biker' that a bunch of you are but I've only been at it for a few years. I have put between 8-10k on my bikes every year....and we have a short season. I make no aplogies (except for spelling!). I own my bike, not the bank; my wife loves it & me. Weenjoy riding with a bunch of friends, no matter what brand they own. I enjoy riding alone. It's all good. Hey, I had a run on the 'new' bike yesterday; itgot above freezing& there wasn't 3" of snow on the roads for a change! She's awesome !!!

Hum, interesting reading folks--feel obliged to add another perspective. Okay, many of us hard working folks in the good ol' US-of-A were born in and have lived through hard times--yep, Top Ramen and bottle/can deposits have been our friends... However,I believe one of the greatest things about living in America-the-Beautifulis that it truly is the land of opportunity. We can live, think, learn, believe, act, work, and achieve as we desire. When I see folks that have made our system work, and watch the folks that fight so hard to keep it that way, I go "Yeah, I live and work in theland of opportunity, andam so very lucky, and grateful, to be an American!" I don't forget the road I've traveled andfeel extremely fortunate to live in a country where we can work hard and make good things happen, for ourselves, and others. So when I stepped up to sign on the dotted line for my new 2008 Nightster with custom paint and other goodies--I thought wow, wow, wow--I am completely jacked that I can now ride my own fine U.S.-made Harley Davidson, part of the American dream--embracing a lifesytle that gives me thefreedom to ride, relax and not give a chit for awhile, be a Zen motorcycle mama if I damn well please, travel the U.S. roads I love, and enjoy the ride alongwith other like-minded freedom loving Americans.Yep, proud, and grateful to be an American, own a Harley, work for my Harley, and have a garage to park her in too!Beats the heckout cans, cigs, andthose daily noodle suprises! My 2 cents.
