i know i need a laptop & was told i need windows xp what else do i need to hook up to bike to check & make adjustments .what cable do i need or can think of anything else i need .just to give you more information i have a 2007 sporster nightster ive installed vance& hines short shots the screaming eagle heavy breather air cleaner .i had the sert installed at my local dealer & dynoed at the same time the bike runs good but i thinkit could run better i know the dealer has to adjust the bike acording to epa standards .right now i have my screaming eagle cd & the sert adapter any information would be helpful thanks jeff!!!!!!!!
Only a personal opinion but, if you paid the stealer to dyno tune the bike and they did it to "EPA standards", you got screwed. I seriously doubt that's what they did.
well i went to the stealer remember they didn,t get that name for nothing .to be quite honest i dont know what kind of adjustments they made i know my dyno sheet said 71.6 hp atmax torque 76.16 .thats why i want to look at it myself & see if theres any improvement i can do myself & dont ask how much the dealer charged me yes too much.
If you're getting 71.6hp & 76.16 torque with the mods you have made, you would be nuts to mess with it. Those are very good numbers and they definately didn't get there using EPA specs.

I agree with charley in regard to the "EPA tuning".... I also think the numbers could be a little better..... I have a very similiar set-up, and my results were significantly better.... Did the dealer do a full dyno tune, or just a download?... My bike was on the dyno for nearly eight hours..... But part of that had to do with the fact that they hadn't tuned my particular set-up before (e.g. Pipe Dreamz exhaust).
charley the bike runs great but you know us harley guys we always want more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeff, I don't know the EFI machines but, how would you know if your numbers are better after tinkering with itwithout a dyno? Does the program show you?
they spent about three hours on the dyno i know because i was there waiting the whole time .yes and i look at your dyno numbers & i know theres more there .i also understand all dynos aren,t the same you could put the same bike on 4 different dynos & get three different sets of numbers . i would like to see if i can improve the numbers if possible !!!!!
goth buy adjusting with a lap top your just tweaking .to check your numbers you would have to put it back on the dyno .highdesert kid would know more about that after all he works at a dealer & probably has access to a dyno !!!!!!!!
The only thing they do to beEPA compliantis not changing the map below 4k rpm. So in reality I don't think your going to see any jump in the final figures. I would be happy with what you have. Another tuner may be able to pull another hp out of the engine but would it be worth the time and money?
