Default Stock pipes.

When i bought my 2005 1200 sportster Custom the dealer bored the baffles out and re-jetted and it sounds awsome with stock pipes.Performance is great but milage does suffer. Not sure of how many dealers will tell you or inspect your sporty this way. It sounds as good as any other pipes i have heard and only cost me 50bux..The salesman told me its the best option on a budget and the best bang for the buck. To me the stock pipes look just fine. I have added a bunch of chrome and a K&N filter as well as a new seat ,sissy bar, windshield. I have been reading in here for quite some time and i just feel a person on a budget can get some great performance from what i have said if he deals with the right person or dealer. Also the only harley part i bought was the sundowner. Windshield and sissy bar off e-bay for a great price. I have a crotch rocket as well and drag race it from time to time and firmly believe that 120mph speedo on that sporty can be pegged with ease with just minor mods i mentioned, i have done it but i try not to make a habit of it on the street, but at 120 mph plus on my sporty it was stable as can be expected. I will post some pics in future when i get some free time. I will take the sporty to the drags this spring to get an 1/8 mile time to post also. I been drag raceing bikes and cars for 20 yrs,its in my blood and the strip is 5 min from my house. I know most folks who have harleys just cruise but i want the best of both worlds, and surely there are others out there like myself. In the future i will make my sporty as fast or close to as fast as the jap bikes in the 1/8 mile and still be streetable, but i do know it will not be on that budget i mentioned above. In short terms , you can make that sportster run like a scalded dog without all those expensive pipes and add ons. My mods are probably illegal in most states but hell the dealer did them for me and guess who i will take it to, to get state inspected.
