PC III Issues, need some help
Hey All,
I have an 08 XL 883 Sportster and just got my Power Commander III. Couple of things going on.
I hooked it up and installed the O2 eliminators, started the bike with no troubles , but one problem. The light that comes on when you turn the start button on, on the speedometer, looks like a motor and is yellow. This is the light that stays lit for a minute until the bike is ready to start. Well now since the PC III install it stays on when the bike is running.
I only ran the bike for about 10 seconds and cut it off, does anyone know why it is doing that?
The other problem is probably simple. The PC III will not fit into the frame like it shows, no way no how. I haven't tried to install the seat yet so I wanted to check and see if anyone had pointers on that.
Thanks

My '07 custom uses a PCIII that came with a new plastic bucket that pops into the top of the rear fender....it places the PCIII under the factory ECM....fits fine.
Where does the instructions have you installing yours?

well that part fits fine, it is the wiring harness that goes toward the front near the tank that is the PITA. Any ideas on the FI light staying on?
Nope.......if you got it from Jamie at fuelmoto, he will fix you up on the phone quickly.....If you bought it elsewhere, then you can try writing Dynojet via email.
well upon further reading on the internet they say it stays on because the O2 sensors are unplugged, so not sure the work around on this.
Yeah, but the eliminators plugs should fool the ECM and prevent the light.......Start the bike again and see if the light clears, you ain't gonna hurt it if all you do is start it and let it warm up......then pull the codes...even if the light don't clear, pull the codes.

I feel your pain on the wiring. It took me like 15 minutes to get it all tucked under there the right way so that the seat would fit. It will work though, so just keep trying different ways. As far as the engine light you are on your own. Mine has the 02 eliminators as well and that doesn't stay on. The map from Fuelmoto is smooth. Bike purrs like a kitten and throttle response is awesome!
