While working on my bike this weekend, I dropped a tool on my tank and put a small chip in it. Anyone know where I can get some touch up paint of Luxury Rich Red (75946)??
WOW....You're screwed....Time for a Custom Paint job. [8D]
Actually, just visit the dealer and order it, or you could see if a local auto paint supplier has it.Mostlikely, it would be easier and cheaper through the dealership because the auto paint supplier would propably charge a minimum of a pint/quart to mix it up.
As others have stated you can buy the touch-up paint from the dealer in little bottles. Since you already have the paint code (75946) you could also have any auto paint shop mix you up a batch, BTW that paint code isa PPG code.
Go to Wal-Mart, they have some in the auto section for $6.00 / bottle. Forget the brand name but it uses a pen like roller and in my case, worked great.
Of course, I only needed black, if you have an unusual, hard to match color you should probably get it from HD.
I got some touch-up paint from the dealer.Mine was called Harley racing orange. It comes in a bottle like white out.It has a little brush attached to the cap.It works ok.But I didn't want to sand on the tank,so I just filled in the chip mark about 3-4 times, and it filled it in OK.You can still see it if you look hard at it,but it's not bad
