i understand all the details between slip on's and full exhaust but im wondering HOW much of a performance diff. between the two pipes. In my case im looking at Rinehart cross backs vs. the rinehart slip ons. I have heard both sides of the story but if someone can explain it to me i would appreciate it.
my questions are
1) which set up system will allow for better HP and torque (performance)
2) what is the sound diff. between the two pipes? Flat out loud vs. Quality
of course i have the SERT, and the SE heavy breather. I know I'm going to get a nice quality response from a know-it-all saying search it but the f-ing search function does not work. So please bare with me. If you want to explain the reason why...I'm cool with that..... Or if you just want to give your opinion on which will perform better that is cool too. I also wanna know which system will produce a louder sound and which produces a better "harley" sound. Thanks to anyone who helps... i have looked all over all the forums but i cant really find a straight to the point answer.
the 2-1 pipes will give you the best performance, drag pipes will boost you if you are WFO top of the rpms, (drag racing above 5k rpms)...slip ons will be better than drags in most cases because you will keep your crossover pipe, the crossover is the key. Stepped 2-1 pipes are even better. Thunderheaders are some of the best. I run hookers. They sound better than a TH too me.
U can use google to search HDFOUMS.COM if you put that in the engine along with pipes, performance
I really like my Screaming Eagle Slipons on my 07 1200. They sound great and I can really notice the extra power. Used to lag when accellerating in the 30-40 range, now I quickly get to 60before I reach fourth gear.
