Well I have been waiting on my cables, and I ordered 03 chrome handle bar kit, because it was alot cheaper then buying an 06 chrome kit. Well I got everything in friday, well I started putting it all together, and the clutch cable was fine, but the trottles cables was 5 inches to short, and my brake line was 14 inches to long[:@]. Wow I was pissed! They was a ride planed saturday, and it was 55* and I set at home. Well I was told that the turn singals would all mount the same........................NOPE! I had to buy new brackets for the turn singals. My force winder filter should be here this week, I can't wait to put it on. I hope your guys weekend was better!
sounds like you had loads of fun...not ! Weekend kinda sucked here as well. Rain, Rain and more rain today ! Got in a short ride yesterday. Praying for sun and warm ! Good luck with your projects
Is the 03 kit instead of the 06 kit why the turn signal mounting is diff?

Raj, sorry your weekend was a bummer. I had had enough fun to make up for it. Rode to my son's basketball game Friday niight. Then Saturday my wife and I did about 100 miles putting around town in between some yardwork. But the best was Saturday night, my sixteen yearold (got him a ninja 500 for Christmas) and I rode about 55 miles to watch another basketball game. He stiil can't read a map very well so he doesn't go very far unless I'm tagging along with him to show him the way. Then again Sunday teh wife jumped on and my son follwed for about another 100 miles around the area. I live wes of Atlanta and Saturday was about 63 degrees follwed by a Sunday afternoon that hit 70.
I'm glad to see you guys had a good time! I hope by the weekend my bike is back together. I'm getting sick of hearing why don't you just leave it aloan. I guess i'm never happy.
Well my weekend was a bit better. Washed the bike on Saturday morning, before work. Then on Sunday morning took a cruise up Angeles Crest Highway. Weather was beautiful and crisp here in So Cal. By the afternoon the sun was actually kinda warm.
Still learning how to ride this bike properly, and blew a couple of corners by zoning on a spot, rather than looking up/down the road. No harm, no foul, just chalked it up to a learning experience. Wasn't going fast enough to crash or anything. just had to get on the brakes a little quicker than i normally would have. I've been used to a bike that weighs just under half of what the Sporty weighs. (actually got to ride that one on Friday, so that may be why I got a little rusty)
Got to see quite a few bikers up and down the road, and actually didn't have one pass me (my direction, the crotch rockets, usually blow by me!). Got the ole' tap on the lid when a chippie was up the road, and only one cruiser rider didn't wave back. He may have been busy on a turn, such is life.
Ohh, friday put in the Smart Siren II on my bike. Everything seems to be fine, and i get a nice litter chirp when i arm/disarm it, and the pager is a fun little gizmo too.
