I've had several "what year is that thing" questions, they looked puzzled when I say 08, one guy (obviously not a motorcylcle enthusiast) asked if I built it myself, I woulda thought letters down the tank that said "HARLEY DAVIDSON" would have given it away but I guess some people aren't too observant. But that last comment I always get after telling them what it is, is "nice bike"
Ya know one thing about Harley's is that they age gracefully and yet maintaine a newness all the same time.. Meaning to say that when you go to a bike show or riding with groups on a ralley or poker run, people are drawn around to look at the older bikes that have been well maintained and kept clean.. Harley's have been know to hold onto much of the "old school" looks, even with their modern bikes, cept for the V-Rods..
Look at the new bikes of today... Many are going back to spoke wheels. Mag wheels are OK but just don't capture that "Motor Cycle" look to me.
In my opnion.... Sportsters (any) with spoke wheels, Heritage, Springers, Wideglides.... are all classics and are true representatives of "old school" styling
I read the original design for the nightster had kickstart but before it got okay'd the kickstarted never left the drawing board Too bad too that would have been a sick feature, I don't think I would ever use the electric start unless of course I were leaving my house and no one were looking

HaHaHa- You should have toldhim yes you built it. you should have told him yous**t the rubber for the tires!
I think the Nightster is a beautiful bike and probably the nicest that H-D has put out in long long time but I can't understand how someone would think it was an older Sportster with the bigger tank, belt drive and like ,the rest of it.
yeah, i was sitting at a light a guy pulled up 2 me and asked me what it looked like before . (2008 black n orange nightster). all i have changed was the mirrors to joker bar ends/ painted air cleaner black/ and put on some cycle shack slip ons.
