Default Lowering Question??

Im thinking about lowering my 2005 1200 Custom. Im researched the ways and its fairly simple. My question to you guys is whether or notI should. Im a bigguy 6'4" 240lbs. My wife sometimes rides, she is 5'2" 125lbs. Will this make a differance when and if I lower the back of the bike?

Dont know if this really helps you or not. But I bought my Sportster already lowered 2"from a guy about the same size as me. I'm 6' 215 and its doesnt seem to be all that small. It still has a good fit. Although I really dont know the what the need is to lower it or what benefits there are. I'm actually looking to raise mine back up. If for anything just to have the appearance of a bigger bike.

I had mine lowered when I bought it new in 2003.I'm 5'4" so I wanted it lowered so I could be flat footed when Im stopped. The dealer put different shocks on it,and lowered the fork tubes about 1".I never did ride it when it was stock. So I'm not sure of the difference in rides.

I lowered my bike because I was short andI liked the look.It definately rides a little stiffer but at least I'm flat foot at a stop. With your size and riding 2up with your wife it's probably not a good idea

I was thinking about the same thing. I was wondering ifinstalling progressive springs in the frontforks would raise the front a little (about an inch).
Anyone have any ideas?
