My 08 883, the 1k service I did everything except this. I have the new manual but it is a bit confusing. Once I pop off the clutch cover, how do I adjust it right? The manual said something about turning until you felt tension, but it did not say which way. Treat me like a kid when explaining
You want to turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise until you feel tension, then back clockwise 1/4 turn.
Note: This is done after you have completely loosened the adjuster in the clutch cable.
I don't know what nut you are talking about. You have to loosen the locking nut(s) on the cable adjuster in order to turn the adjuster and get plenty of slack in the clutch cable. The cable adjuster is located under a rubber boot where the clutch cable is clipped to the left front frame downtube. The clutch adjuster inside the derby cover is a screw not a nut.
