Trickle chargers are good for maintaining. If your battery is dead your gonna need a reg charger to bring it up to start it.

Any sertin trype of regular charge to look for? I have a booster here for a car. Figured that would be to much for it. I really don't know what to look for. Haven't started it in a week so it's just now dead. What do I need to look for? Would a charger for a lawn mower work? Also would I need to take the battery out to charge it or could I do it on the bike and for how long?

You DON'T want a trickle charger, it will cook the battery if left on to long. You want to get a Float Charger (Battery Tender), they can be left on endlessly without harming the battery. You can find them in Walmat for around $20.

If the battery is stone dead, you will need a regular charger (2 - 10 amps) to bring it back up.

A trickle charger assures batteries are maintained after charging and are always ready to go. The 12-volt model charges to 14.4 VDC, monitors the battery at 13.2 volts, and resumes full charging if the battery drops below 12.6 VDC. The 6-volt models charges to 7.2 VDC, monitors at 6.6 volts, and resumes charging below 6.3 volts. Includes 2-color LED indicator, reverse polarity protection, and a 12-feet output cord with quick-connect harness.

So how do I need to use the tender charger? DO I have to take the battery off the bike or can I leave it on the bike?

Is this a tender charger AND a regular charger?

The tender has a wire harness you attach to the battery and it stays on the bike. The charging pack plugs into it. Similiar to the picture.

I have the walmart trickle charger/tender and it works fine. It will charge a very low battery, but at 1.5 AH it ouwld take 10 hrs or so. Good value for $19.
