Default Crazy LEFT Turn question??

When I'm sitting in the left TURN LANE (the ones with the arrows).... waiting for the arrow to turn GREEN... it never turns green!
SO I always have to run the red lights with Left Turn Arrow Signal!

Why is that..? [:@]
I thought I didn't weigh enough to "Trip" the light.. but my husband says it is "tripped" by metal.. not weight.... so how the HECK do I get the friggin lights to turn green for me to LEGALLY turn LEFT??

If I see a car begind me.. I will pull up as far as possible and wave them to get close behind me to "trip" the light for me... but many times there is no one behind me....I certainly don't want any tickets!

HEHEHHE

The lights are tripped by metal. It's a magnetic thing. You can purchase a large magnet that attaches to the bottom of the frame of the bike that is suppose to help with that. I haven't tried it, so I can't say first hand that it will work.It can be very frustrating sometimes. Ya either gotta run the light, or do a right turn on red, then U turn thing, or wait for an hour for a cage to come along.

Yeah it happens. Try backing up and moving the bike on the pad to trip it. Sometimes this works, other times it doesnt. I have been in this same situation...

At many intersections you can see where the sensor wires are buried (cut) into the asphalt. It usually looks like a rectangular box with a line up the middle. Look closely for them at the next few intersections you encounter. Stopping the bike directly over one of the lines that form the rectangular box will increase your chances of tripping the sensor.

+1, I always put it right on the center line in that box, just watch the oil in the center when you take off. Never had a problem with it here, but thats because dad beat some things into my head early on so I didn't have problems later.

Same thing happened to me this morning. I sat through 2 light cycles before i just made the left on a red light. I understand the the PD here will understand as long as you dont impede traffic or cause a dangerous situation for oncoming traffic.
