Default troublemaker decel pop

Hey all
Just wondering, hooker troublemaker owners, or anyone. Loving my pipes, but still fighting some popping on decel, no matter how I tune. Ive been at a 45 46 and 48 low jets, (48 now), and 185 high, ness big sucker, and there is no popping or carb coughs, but still fighting popping on decel. What im wondering is are these pipes just known for this no matter what, I can get used to it but just one of those things? Wondering how other troublemaker owners are fairing out, did a few searches but not finding much.
thank you
naz

Hey there i have the trouble makers. How new are they? Mine poped on hard decels (from high RPM) for about the first 2-3 weeks after the dyno. Now it is fine.

A 48 is a really big Pilot Jet for a Sportster, especially if you are at 1000 feet orless aboveSea level. Are you sure you don't have exhaust leaks up by the heads? Did you change the crush gaskets when you put the troublemakers on?
Also you may have a vacuum leak up by the carb or intake manifold. You may wanna check those areas too.

that could also be one problem the crush gaskets that came with my TRs were coming apart before i even put them in the heads. did it looklike they were ok? I just got new ones from the HD shop for like a dollar each

mine seems to decel pop until the bike warms up,then it seems fine..the dealer told me that its probably just an air/fuel mixture adjustment..i pulled the plugs to see how they look and they are fine..its been kind of cold here for riding so i need to ride on a nice warm day to see if it does it then..i know one thing i aint paying the dealer to dyno my bike again, its not under warranty anymore..and last time they dyno'd it there was still a coughing problem with the bike and they said its normal for a sportster..

I had decel pop till I finally got flange gaskets right.....they kept working loose.....I finally used metal lock nuts-not nylok......I also made certain to carefully center the exhaust flange in the head as I snugged down-then and only then attached lower pipe to new bracket......1200 miles now with abolutely no pop and no lose or lost nuts.

ok thank you guys. sounds like i got a leak somewhere. im going to loosen and pull and recenter my gaskets, pipes in the head, check all of it for leaks and give it a good go-over, and finally schedule a dyno appointment at an indy shop. sounds like its time for it.
thank you for the help gang ! im gonna hold with the 48 low for now, the thing barely wanted to idle on the low jets for some reason after working the air/fuel mix. thanks thanks thanks i love this site.

Depending how cold it is where you are I really think the temperature plays into the picture. I notice strange things with my bike since I do ride in the cold more often in the early spring. Takes about 20 minutes for my bike to warm upand I can still touch the motor without burning my hand. I am talking temps in the low thirties and hwy riding.
