Default 104 Octance boost?

Has anybody out there ever tried 104 boost for their Sporty. I run Chevron 93 but was wondering if it would make any difference in performance and gas mileage. Isn't higher octance suppose to run alittle cooler?

The 93 octane chevron is plenty enough for everything but the most wildly modified Sportster. Octane boost is nothing more than a waste of $$ if your engine isn't at or above 10.75:1 compression.

Even IF that junk worked, additional octane will not increase performance. Higher octane fuels are for engines that have beensubstantially modified. Particularly if they have high compression. High compression motors can suffer from pre ignition. As in the fuel/air ignites BEFORE the spark plug fires. A higher octane fuel is more stable and can eliminate this condition.

Your bike doesn't need nor will it benifit from higher octane.

Octane is not a "power booster" per se.The correct level of octane is necessary for proper and thorough combustion. Once you have achieved that proper and thorough combustion with (usually) the recommended rated octane, any octane in excess of that rating does nothing to improve performance.
