low idle miss
My 2006 sportster 1200C started sputtering andbackfiring at the end of last years riding season. I changed the plugs checked air cleaner but no change. Today I first disconnected the front plug wire while it was idling it died. Hooked it back up and restarted it then disconnected the back plug wire. It stayed running the same. this makes me guess something electrical possibly coil or what else could it be. The bike has about 16000 miles on it and the only thing after market is the vance and hinse slip ons at 10000 miles ran good afterwards. please help outof work can't take it in.

Since you said you changed the plugs, the next easiest thing to try, is to swap the plug wires. (that means at both ends). If the problem stays with the rear cylinder, the next shot would be to replace the coil.

Like cHarley said, check the plug wires. Also, since you have an 06 your coil has 3 input wires from the ICM. They are: Front Cylinder-Common-Rear Cylinder and all are low voltage. I would also check thoseinput connections on the coilas well as the ICM connector plug under the seat.
