Default Smokin' pipes question?

Just got done installing the shortshots on my Nightster and they are great! The parts guy at the local HD told me that it would be ok to run the pipes without the stage1 and fuel download for a while until I can afford to get it later. Has anyone done this? Is it ok to do? I just dont want to screw anything up...

Thanks

Default RE: Smokin' pipes question?

It's ok...until you open up your intake, you won't see the full potential of them pipes. Remember, and engine is an air pump...ya gotta open up BOTH sides to actually make a difference.
