I have a 1200evo motor with spark knock issues when it is fully warmed up. I use premium fuel,have tried several brand's, and the timing has been checked and is on the money. I also had the carb gone thru to make sure it was'nt a lean issue. I also had the intake gasket's and carb boot replaced and checked for leak's. ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY FRESH IDEA'S? Under what conditions are you getting the spark knock (speed, gear, adding throttle)? While it's not right, some knock is not unusual in the 1200s at 50-55 mph in 5th gear and additional throttle is rolled on. In my case, I found the factory ignition timimg and advance curve in the ICM to be the problem. Basically, the factory ignition curve sucks.
You also could have a bad VOES sensor.

sorry, it's a 98 1200. it occur's when first powering up in 1sy, but sometime's it goe's all the way to 3rd gear. It usually happen's only for the first half second in each gear until the rpm's come up. thank's for any help.
