HOW DO YOU CHECK TO SEE HAVE FUEL IN THE CHAMBERS?
Got a match? j/k
If you were getting fuel and the bike is not firing then the plugs should be wet/damp. You could try squirting a small amount of gas into each cylinder and then reinstal the plugs. If the engine fires off and then dies, you are not getting fuel delivered to the cylinders.
SQUIRTED GAS IN EACH CYLINDER, IT STARTED RAN TILL IT BURN THAT OFF,NOT GETTING FUEL TO CYLINDERS, YOU CAN HERE THE FUEL PUMP IN THE GAS TANK WHRR RR,BUT NO GO.
Keep us posted to the cause. At least those of us with the 07/08 FI models will have some knowledge for the future. Hope its a simple cure.. Like something that can be repaired on the road.
i had a problem with mine and it was my float that was stuck. it would turn and turn and turn and SOMETIMES would pop.. so turned off my gas from the line.. tried it without the gas on and it cranked after a couple turn overs. turned the gas back on and it started boggin down. so knew it was something with the float... and it was a peice of trash got stuck on it and wasnt going down teh complete 20degree angle. I know this probably didnt help any - but just giving some advice if this does present itself
I had a similar problem with my Ultra. The fuel pump was located inside the tank (not sure about a Sportster). The fuel line came off and was lying inside the tank.No fuel but pump was running.
I had the same problem with my 2007 Nightster with less than 1000 miles on it. Pump ran, got spark, took the tank and pump apart to check for dirty gas. Ended up being a bad fuel pressure regulator and was under warrantee, but had to have it towed to the dealership.
