just got back from the harley dealership, and they gave me a quote for about 1200 USD to install a set of V&H sideshots on my'07 Nightster. Im a little lost in the mechanical lingo, but the "super tuner", they said, is far superior to the fuel pack sold myVance and Hines. I figured I could buy the set of pipes off of ebay or something, and only have the deale install them, but my question is where can I get some black sideshots for cheap, and do I really need the super tuner insteasd of the V&h fuel pack?
Check out american classic motors on ebay or eastern performance cycle. I have purchased V&H pipes from both. The fuel pak is just fine if pipes are all you are ever going to do. If you are planning on heads or cams in the future then get the SERT. Dont forget you will need the Stage 1 air cleaner. I decided to use the PCIII after reading so many posts on here about it and what great customer service Jamie at Fuelmoto has.
I just bought the stuff for my wifes nightster.
Shortshots in black with quiet baffles 460.00 (eastern performance cycle)
Dynojet PCIII 292.00 (fuelmoto)
SE stage one air cleaner 140.00 (stealer)
TOTAL 892.00
You can do the work yourself, its not hard at all. Get a buds help and this forum is always great help

And if you add $300 for dyno time your at $1200.00
I boughtmy sideshotsfor $550 including shipping from go parts direct, granted they are taking a whole month to get here but sheez. You can also get them for that price including shipping from JCmotors but they were out of stock so I went with goparts. (they were back ordered there too, and quite frankly I don't plan on buying from goparts again).
Heck you can get them from V&H website for $650!! My dealership will do the re-map for $130 (fuel pak is $250 right?) and they WOULD charge $65 an hour to put them on, but I'm doing that myself. But with what you said $1200 sounds ABOUT right (maybe a little inflated).
So I am gonna have less than $700 in it
Its not that hard to do your pipes.......I say do it yourself and save $300-$500
