If everyone wants to be different get a scooter, everybody already has a Harley.
Like I always say, get what you like and don't worry about what the other guy has.
I like the short shots myself, I think they have a kind of hot rod look to them and the price is right not to mention thenice sound. To me the troublemaker pipes look best on alow slung bike like a low rider or such, they just don't quite look right on a Sportybut again, get what you like.
As for the camaro comparison, I guess they could be compared to camaros back in the 80s since most guys driving camaros back then seemed to get a lot of poontang from the ladies. [8D] I said "seemed" becauseI drove a 67 Mustang back then and I got my fair share too.
Having pipes compared to a muscle car isn't a bad thing actually. I would be more concerned with having a set of pipes deemed to be "different" which thencould be comparedto a 70s eraGremlin or Pacer.
i would have killed to have them on my sportster, but there were fitment issues with the years that others found a work around for pre 04 sporty, they look great and arent too expensive, cant speak for the sound, i havent heard them...
I just got my Short Shots on this weekend. I love these pipes...the look and sound are exactly what I wanted. I like the Hookers and the Samsons too, but, after staring at pictures of different Sportsters with different sets of pipes all winter long, the Short Shots won the contest. I believe it was said earlier in this thread, you gotta go after what you like and not worry about what other riders are doing.
When I first saw the Shortshots they were exactly what I was looking for. Ireally don't careif anyone else likes them, Ido. Not going to be for everyone though.
I just put Rush 2.25's on my Nighster - in large part because of price, but also like the sound. I really like the looks of the Shortshots, but as pointed out, seems like "everyone" is getting them. That's how I feel about the black mini-apes on Nighsters. THought about them, but didn't want to be like "everyone" else. I figure if I'm going to change my bike, I'd like to try to avoid being a "me too".
I used to have nice camaro that I bought with money I got from dealin weed. One time I picked upthis lady that said she was running away from her old man. oops...
